Basil Paints Exquisite Damp protect presents an elastomeric waterproof basecoat fortified with reinforced glass fiber. Its versatile application extends to both vertical and horizontal surfaces. Offering robust water resistance, Eternity Damp Protect effectively blocks water penetration for a period of up to 5 years. Additionally, it features heat-protective attributes, capable of lowering surface temperatures by up to 10 degree Celsius.
Application Procedure Surface Preparation
Prepare the surface by cleaning and ensure that it is free of dust, oil, grease, grime, and loose particles etc. Small cracks up to 3mm or less should be opened, cleaned, and filled with Crack filler. Polymer modified screed should be used for repair of Bigger cracks and hollow areas.
Application - Water Proofing Solution
1. Apply a self-priming coat of Damp Protect (diluted with water in 1:1 ratio).
2. Apply two perpendicular coats of Damp Protect (diluted with water in 1:0.25 ratio).
3. Achieve a forced coverage of 25 sq. ft./ltr. coat.
4. Allow to dry for 4-6 hours between coats.
For the best performance on terraces, ensure that the product is applied on the entire roof including parapet wall to form a continuous blanket.
When used as a Primer
Apply Damp Protect with dilution ratio of 1:0.5 with water. Let it dry for 4-5 hours. Apply at least two coats of exterior emulsion of the desired shade. However time interval depends on climatic conditions and dilution should always be done considering the brush ability of the material.
Precautions and Recommendation
Do not apply during rains or extreme temperatures. Avoid excessive surface abuse which would lead to puncturing of the coating film. Corners and joints of drain pipes, channels etc. to be treated with cement sand mortar prior to coating application. Do not over dilute. Effective on all exterior surfaces like terraces, chajjas, vertical walls etc.
